St George’s Church and Community Centre
Since October 2008 regular services of worship have not been held at St George’s but the building is still consecrated as a church. Its main function at present is as a venue for community and parish activities. It is regularly used by many local groups and organisations. Those who used to be members of the congregation there now worship at All Saints’ Church, playing an active role both in worship and in the wider life of the church. Some of those members form the DCC (District Church Council) which continues to maintain and improve the premises for use both by the parish and by the wider community.
Currently the Mothers’ Union holds its monthly meeting here and has services of worship at certain times in the year.
In Lent and Advent one of the parish study groups is also held here.
On the third Thursday of the month ‘Simple Lunches’ are held.
Anybody wishing to hire one of the halls should contact Barry Neal.
